July 19 Day 48 80 miles

There was a fairly level route today through farm country of Upper New York. I had one flat tire in the morning, but there were no other flats for our group. After the first SAG stop in the morning, we picked up a couple of the Brits, and the rest of them joined us after the second SAG, making up a group of 9. They rode at a leisurely pace, which translates as something I could keep up with. It was fun finding small sections of the old Erie Canal along the way. Tomorrow we hope to ride some bike paths along the canal.

We leave Syracuse under sunny skies.

Bits of the old Erie Canal surprise us during the day.

This church promotes itself as the world's smallest.

Our SAG stop food is getting monotonous, so we took advantage of the Dunkin Donuts next to the second SAG to find something new to eat..

We enjoy riding with the Brits for the last leg of the day.

The second Orthodox church that I have see in 2 days.

We roll through Herkimer,NY into Little Falls by mid-afternoon.
