July 16 Rest Day
We got a van ride to Niagara Falls for our rest day, and spent the morning exploring. We had good weather and a relaxing time viewing the falls from it many vantage points.
I am gearing up for tomorrow. The remnant of the recent tropical storm is forecast to blow over the region, so I expect to get wet!
We board the ' Maid of the Mist' tour boat for a trip up to the falls. The blue ponchos are standard issue, and we expect to get wet. The boat takes us first to the American falls which we get good views of. Then it heads into the spray of fog around the Horseshoe falls (which is an immersive experience, not a photographic one). The mists finally cleared enough when we get to the falls, that we can see them towering over us. It was well worth the effort.
