July 10 Day 39 74 miles

We left Indianapolis under cloudy skies, competing with traffic on suburban streets. This eventually brought us to a small divided highway, that was busy, but mercifully free of trailer tractors.

Then there were some pleasant small towns, including Knightstown, home to the famous Hoosiers basketball team, about which the movie was made. We found a bakery there for coffee and a treat.

Our destination was Richmond, another small American City, with the necessary hotels in its outskirts.

Heading out of Indianapolis.

Knightstown with a mural commemorating it Hoosier history.

This was a very proud bakery owner, who tells us that the recipe for his cinnamon rolls came from his grandmother.

This 2 lane highway was not heavily trafficked .

Man, this country grows a lot of corn!

Some of the other small towns that we passed through included Cambridge and Centerville.

Love the picture of your going through the center of town," monument circle" as it is called and I think the church steeple is the Methodist Church where I went to Sunday school. Lots of cornfields on your way. You should be in Ohio soon.
