We Enter the Eastern Time Zone

Updated: Feb 19, 2020

July 7 Day 36 81 miles

We had fairly flat riding all day, through more cornfields and towns. Mid-day we crossed the state line into Indiana, and into the eastern time zone! The route took us through Danville (which is quite depressed) and past the Danville Prison. Our destination for the day is Crawfordsville, where we eat and spend a night.

We launch off down familiar roads. These geese provide a little diversion at the start of the day. They were in no rush to get out of the way.

We ride with Mark, who has the only flat of the day. He is getting lots of encouragement from passing riders, but no real assistance.

It gives me a chance to fool around with my camera.

Our first water stop is next to this pretty, old grain silo.

Eating continues to be a frequent and regular part of our day.

Our passage through Danville was brief, followed by the prison.

Mark and the three amigos entering Indiana.

We spend the night in Crawfordsville, Indiana tonight.
